Letter, 1818 Jan. 4, [Fairfield District, S.C.] to Col. A. McWilley.

Letter requesting that Col. A. McWilley collect notes due on Briggs' behalf from James Russell and requesting that McWilley turn them over to a magistrate for collection. Briggs exlplained that he was unable to collect the notes in person due to a trip to Newberry, S.C.; "there is 2 of the notes you can put in a Magistrate's hand for collecting, and I think it best to take him with a bale Rit or attachment for the others..."
